"organoleptically"
The Appalachianist
Appalachian Intellectual. To me that means plain thinking. I am A Non Commissioned Officer in the Army Reserves. Let me say...My views expressed here are mine and not those of The U.S. Army, Army Reserve or my fellow brethren in The National Guard. This is entirely Sua Sponte. This is My Thinking. I'm single and in my mid 30's. Politicaly, I'm a Libertarian. (Again, Sua Sponte.I do not represent the Libertarian Party.)I love my native Appalachia, Rock n Roll and...I love God.
I started blogging for two reasons. I was concerned about the changes to the area I live in, Southern Appalachia and I was about to go to the war. I was in Iraq in 06 and 07 and now Kuwait in 11 and 12. Blogging was a means of documenting my experiences and hoping it would help gain clarity. I don't feel that way about it any more. It's said people write blogs because they are frustrated, that's why people read them too. That makes us sound apocalyptic. Are we? Let it be said, what I say here is of my own thinking. This is entirely Sua Sponte and not an official representation of the U.S. Military or the U.S. Government as a whole.

Are you going to use this 50 cent word in your new pick-up line, "I am organolepically aroused by your beauty?"
ROFLMAO! That's a good one,Sage.
That line would totally work if a dude ever said that to me. A good vocabulary is on a lot of girls lists of turn ons. ; )
On a side note, I have a deer skull that smells. I've soaked it in water and I've hosed it down. I've used soaps and fyi, Bed Bath and Beyond does not have a scent that can cut through the smell of decay. I cannot get the smell to go away. Any ideas?
Hmm...We'll have to ask a taxidermist, Pispsqeak. Is all of the flesh and brain matter gone? If your not sure, you can "organoleptically" inspect it to make sure.
haha, yeah everything is gone, just not the smell.
ok, so my forensics prof. came up with a solution. The little buck is currently sitting in a bucket with a mixture of water and tide clothes detergent, since it's a de-greaser. I'll let you know how it turns out.
I was thinking Hydrogen Peroxide. Let me know.
I heard that too, at some point I'll do an experiment to see which works better.
P.S. If you end up with left over skeletal remains (especially boar or bear) from when you go hunting and you don't know what to do with them. Your local college's anthro dept. would probably love them for their comparative anatomy collection, especially if that college is Western Carolina which has a pretty strong undergraduate forensic science focus.
Just in case you were wondering ; )
