
Cairns. This is as high as we went. Around 7200 feet where people apparently make a monument to their trip. Cairns are historicaly a monument to the dead. Both of my Ancestoral groups, the Scots and the Cherokee made use of them. The Cherokee would mark a site of a killing(by enemies) with Cairns. Each passer by had to place a stone on the heap. If you ever find one around a gap, leaave it alone. Most are gone though.
